Edward T. Mathes Hall of Residence (MA), known as Mathes Hall or simply Mathes (pronounced /ˈmæθəs/), is a dormitory located on North Campus at Western Washington University.

Mathes Hall houses women and men on separate floors in double-occupancy rooms with interior corridors.

Mathes has great views of Bellingham Bay and the Canadian Coastal Range, and features a sundeck, study area, lounges on every floor, game rooms, and a main lounge with a fireplace that serves as the social center for the entire building. Staff members offer many events and programs, facilitating an active community of new and returning residents.

Prior to 1981, Mathes was an all female dormitory. In the fall of 1981 it became a coed dormitory. Men occupied the 3rd, 5th and 7th floor while women occupied 1, 2, 4, 6, 8. A tee shirt design contest was held for that first coed year with the winning design being a Star Trek scene of the U.S.S. Enterprise circling a planet with the phrase, "To boldly go where no man has gone before."
